2009 & 2010

I don’t do new years resolutions and if I did I wouldn’t publish them online :)

2009 was a tough year. Though the second half of it started bearing fruit, which meant it ended positively.

2009 involved trying to sell our house, and failing. We rented it out instead, which means we finally got to move to Lewes, but it took months longer than we had wanted.

2009 was the start of Lewes Werks.  A challenge within itself.  Though am proud now that is is thriving and sustainable.

2009 was a family year. I made a commitment to myself to spend more time with my boys and not to rely on anyone else to look after them.  This actually made life very difficult and stressful, especially when there was a 30 minute commute to school/nursery and for half of the year Ben was still in ‘nursery’ so couldn’t do full days.  Which meant I had school/nursery pick up three times a day whilst still trying to get Lewes Werks up and running and holding down project work.  It’s much easier now both of the boys are full time at school.

In the second half of 2009 I made a strong focus and shift to make some proper money (none of that whuffie stuff!) through Schux.  The focus worked and am now super busy!

2009 saw me scratching my head about what to do with the Software Testing Club.  I feel very positive about it and am working closely with Phil, Rob and Joel on some projects.  I think I speak for us all when I saw we are get on really well :)

2010 will see me saying good bye to Brighton Girl Geek Dinners.  I simply don’t have the time to even think about it anymore.  If anyone would like to take over it then please let me know.

2010 will be about collaborating, making and building projects around stuff that interests me – work life, education and life of mums.

2010 will be about travelling.

2010 will be about meeting more people.

2010 will be about making change.

2010 will be about freedom.
